AYANEO has pulled back the curtain on its newest device aimed at the Android ecosystem: the AYANEO Pocket ACE. Designed with a traditional horizontal layout, this compact handheld incorporates Qualcomm’s newest gaming-focused silicon, a distinctive screen format, and quality components intended to deliver a satisfying gaming experience on the go.
Under the hood, the Pocket ACE is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 system-on-chip, the same found on its current flagship AYANEO Pocket S model. This processor is tailored specifically for handheld gaming devices, promising considerable performance improvements compared to earlier iterations and other mobile chipsets. It pairs an updated Kryo CPU with a capable Adreno A32 graphics processing unit, which Qualcomm suggests delivers twice the graphical muscle of the first-generation chip. This hardware should make the device adept at handling intensive native Android titles as well as demanding emulation tasks as we saw with the Pocket S.
While AYANEO has not yet finalized memory and storage specifics, industry trends and the chip’s capabilities suggest potential configurations will include responsive LPDDR5X RAM (perhaps in 12GB or 16GB amounts) coupled with swift UFS 4.0 storage for fluid operation and fast game loading.
Visually, the Pocket ACE sets itself apart with a 4.5-inch LCD panel featuring a less common 3:2 aspect ratio alongside a dense 1620×1080 resolution. This screen shape is particularly well-suited for displaying content from older gaming consoles that used squarer formats, minimizing unused screen space. The high resolution packed into a 4.5-inch diagonal promises a very sharp image. Given AYANEO’s track record, users can anticipate a quality LCD panel delivering respectable colour and brightness levels.
Regarding user interaction and longevity, the Pocket ACE features joysticks utilizing Hall sensor technology. These rely on magnetic fields for input detection, effectively preventing the stick drift issue that can plague conventional joystick mechanisms over time, thereby maintaining accuracy.
Complementing the controls is an advanced 0916B Ultra Wideband Linear Motor, engineered to generate precise and varied tactile feedback, helping to immerse the player by translating on-screen events into physical sensations. A substantial 6000mAh battery provides the necessary power reserve, while 40W fast charging capability ensures rapid refueling to minimize gaming interruptions.
